Taraji P. Henson on Black Actors in Hollywood.

If you’re a fan of Empire, you would be no stranger to who Taraji P. Henson is, she is an award winning actress in Hollywood known for both her small and big screen roles. In the past few months we have seen discriminator for the black community in America and apparently the Hollywood industry isn’t included in this wide-spread discrimination of the black community.

Taraji P. Henson has recently released a memoir titled ‘Around The Way Girl‘ and has mentioned the treatment of black actors in a first hand experience in the film ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button‘ and adding that she has been working in the industry for 10 years when this had happened.

According to Henson, even though she billed third in the main cast, she got a low 6 figure salary compared to Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett who got paid over a million dollars which and was asked to pay for location during the shooting in New Orleans.

I think this speaks to volume that racism is well and alive in the United States. This doesn’t mean that America is a completely racist country and I think that most people who live there do not have contempt for other races or religions but there is a small portion but a powerful portion who practices racism in the country.

I know that there a people in the media who actually believe that a majority of the African-American population chooses to live in a particular way and that is why they have to be dealt with in specific terms but that is not the case. Hollywood is just a small part of the issue, the larger issue is in rural areas where black people get arrested for ridiculous claims. Just yesterday a man was arrested for just walking off the sidewalk for a small amount of time.

We can call it unfair and we can call it the way life is but unless we stand up for our brothers and sisters who have given so much to pop culture and would help us in a matter of no time. Its going to get worse. The black community deserves so much better than this and we to raise up for their fight in this because BLACK LIVES MATTER.
