Anti-Gay Radio Comments, Condemned By Vatican

The Catholic church hasn’t been known for being extremely progressively until recently with Pop Francis but fortunately for a lot of progressive thinkers, Pope Francis’ beliefs go much further than himself.

If you’ve been watch news around the world you would know that a horrific earthquake has hit Italy with 2 dead and over 290 injured. A common trend in a lot of developing countries blaming natural disasters on God or either certain cultural trends. We saw this with the Nepal quakes where Indian ministers blamed the earthquake on the consumption of beef and this is not just India, this happens everywhere.

A trend that must stop and the Vatican has done just that. A Dominican friar said the earthquake was caused because of the sins of man specifically referring to the LGBT community. The deputy secretary of state who is close to Pope Francis issued a statement saying that the comment was offensive and does to reflect the overall view of the church which is mercy.

Radio Maria has been under fire a lot lately because of some anti-semitic comments. The station issued a statement saying that the friar did not reflect the views of the station.

Maybe this time around, we can have a community of Catholics that accept everyone.
